Q: |
What are the system requirements for eComStation 2.0? |
A: |
eComStation 2.0 system requirements
In order to succesfully install eComStation 2.0 please take in consideration these
minimum and recommended minimum system requirements:
|
Minimum |
Recommended |
CPU |
Intel Pentium 133 MHz or equivalent (including Intel Celeron, PIII, P4, Core Duo and AMD K6, Athlon X2 and Duron processors) |
Any modern CPU will do, but the higher the speed
the more responsive your system will be. Also, the
latest multi-core CPU systems should work. This is
made possible by ACPI, but eComStation can also
work on multi-core CPU's without using the other
cores.
|
Memory |
96 MB (absolute minimum required for installation from CD) |
Install as much memory as you can in your system. 4 GB is the maximum supported amount. Applications like Firefox and OpenOffice.org need a lot of RAM to work. Also make certain you give a virtual machine (like Virtual PC) enough memory.
|
Video |
PCI VGA video card with at least 512 kB memory. |
AGP video board supported by Scitech Display Doctor. See www.ecomstation.com/faq/15 for a full list of supported adapters. Besides SNAP, the video driver Panorama is included which supports almost any video chipset in VESA mode. |
Drivespace |
600 MB |
When selecting more options in the installer, more
drive space is required. A practical working size is
a bootable JFS partition of 4 GB. |
Mouse |
Any PS/2, serial or USB mouse |
A PS/2 mouse is recommended for best performance. |
CD drive |
IDE or SCSI CD-ROM drive |
An IDE/SATA or SCSI CD-ROM or DVD player with boot capability and a BIOS which supports booting from CD-ROM.
